On October 30, VTB Arena hosted an Anniversary show dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Russian Radio and the Golden Gramophone Award. Compositions that, according to the station and radio listeners, are the main musical legacy of three decades were selected for the concert.

The anniversary show of Russian Radio brought together songs that have become part of the DNA of millions of listeners. These are compositions that have become timeless hits.

"The choice was extremely difficult. The songs performed on stage today are the winners of the Golden Gramophone Award, but over the past 30 years, Russian Radio has awarded more than 800 statuettes, and we were faced with the task of choosing the main ones. We focused primarily on the love of the listeners, their numerous reviews, calls, letters, as well as the significance of each song for its era, how it influenced the artist's work and the music industry as a whole," says Vladimir Borisov, director of Russian Radio.

The show was hosted by Philip Kirkorov, the "King of Russian Pop", Nikolai Baskov, the "Golden Voice of Russia" and Anton Yuryev, the star of the morning show "Russian Peppers". Philip Kirkorov holds the record for the number of "Golden Gramophones" (there are 26 statuettes in the singer's collection), while Nikolai Baskov is the winner of 21 awards. Over the years, the performers have been joking with each other, competing for the number of trophies from Russian Radio. Their dialogues at the Golden Gramophone ceremonies became a real decoration of the show, and finally they both stood at the helm of the concert, giving it an indescribable atmosphere and mood.

"Tonight is a special night! An evening that our music has been preparing for for 30 years! And this is a whole epoch. The era called the "Golden Gramophone". I remember the very beginning. I remember the first notes, the first victories, the first glances of this hall. And for me, the Golden Gramophone is not just an award. This is a musical chronicle," Nikolai Baskov greeted the audience.

The presenters discussed how the world has transformed over the past thirty years, but one thing has remained unchanged: the wonderful music on the waves of Russian Radio.

This evening, Russian Radio restored historical justice — two separate "Golden Gramophones" were awarded on the stage of the Anniversary Show. Alsu — for the song "Winter Dream" and Irina Dubtsova — for the song "About him". These hits have long won national love, and today the singers have finally been awarded.

In honor of the 30th anniversary, a virtual Hall of Fame was also launched, which brought together the most prominent Russian artists whose songs have been playing on the radio station for more than 10 years. The first stars whose profiles appeared in the Hall of Fame were the participants of the Anniversary Show. They were awarded commemorative gramophone–shaped brooches for their contribution to the history of the award, which became metaphorical keys - each box has an NFC tag on it, which allows you to enter the virtual Hall of Fame.

Compositions by the most titled artists — Philip Kirkorov, Nikolai Baskov, Grigory Leps, Dima Bilan, Dmitry Malikov, Anya Lorak, Valeria and Sergey Lazarev — were included in the anniversary vinyl album "Golden Gramophone: the best in 30 years", released by the Muzilla Production vinyl factory. The print run was only 300 copies, so there is no doubt that the record will become a real rarity.

The show ended with the anthem of "Russian Radio" performed by the stars. The appearance on stage of the most prominent, popular and beloved performers by millions became a truly historic moment - a demonstration of the professionalism, beauty and quality of Russian music. This is how Russian Radio summed up the results of three decades and opened the doors to a new era and new hits.
