Vegetable production will increase by a quarter in 10 years in the Moscow region
By 2030, the Moscow Region plans to increase crop production by 25% compared to 2021. This is reported by the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food. They note that the region is implementing a set of measures to achieve this goal.
Thus, grain production will reach 650 thousand tons, potatoes and vegetables — 650 and 570 thousand tons, respectively, oilseeds — 103 thousand tons. By 2030, 149 thousand tons of products are planned to be produced in protected soil vegetable production. In 10 years, starting in 2014, the production of greenhouse vegetables has grown from 5 to 131 thousand tons, according to the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya.
According to the head of the department, Sergey Dvoinykh, there are 274 enterprises operating in the Moscow Region in the crop industry. 126 of them grow cereals, 73 farms grow potatoes, and 64 enterprises grow vegetables. The authorities provide them with various support measures. Thus, farmers can receive credit funds at a discounted rate of up to 10.5% for the reconstruction and modernization of greenhouse complexes.
In addition, the goal is facilitated by the introduction of new technologies and the introduction of land into agricultural circulation. In particular, 185,711.5 hectares have been commissioned in the region in five years.
Earlier it was reported that the Moscow region took the first place in Russia in the production of confectionery products. Since the beginning of the year, regional enterprises have produced more than 383 thousand tons of confectionery. This is 28.6% of the total volume of this type of product in the Central Federal District and about 13% of the total Russian production.
