It is planned to build more than 400 km of gas pipelines in St. Petersburg by 2034. The regional gasification program for housing and communal services, industrial and other organizations of the city for 2025-2034 was approved by Governor Alexander Beglov.

The cost of the program is 22.7 billion rubles. 1 billion rubles will be allocated from the city budget, 61 billion from the federal budget, and about 21 billion rubles from extra—budgetary sources.
Earlier, on October 29, Beglov submitted to the Legislative Assembly a draft city budget for 2026-2028. He announced the amounts that are planned to be used to pay the participants of the special military operation (SVO) and support their families. The head of St. Petersburg stressed that the city provides all possible support to the participants of the special military operation and their families. So, 25.7 billion rubles will be allocated for one-time payments to fighters in 2026.
