German Foreign Minister urges to abandon nuclear tests
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadefohl called on all participating countries to comply with the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT), while confirming that Russia does not violate it. This was reported by Deutsche Welle on October 31.
"It is critically important that all five nuclear powers continue to observe moratoriums on testing," the TV channel reports his statement.
Vadefoul stated the need to preserve the nuclear test ban treaty, pointing out that neither Russia nor the United States have conducted them in the current century.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the initiative of US President Donald Trump to resume nuclear testing was sharply criticized by experts. It is noted that the head of the American Association for Nuclear Arms Control, Darrell Kimball, called this idea dangerous and ambiguous.
