Vegetables and fruits grown in Moldova are rotting and being destroyed, as there is nowhere to export them due to the loss of the sales market in Russia. This was stated on Thursday, October 30, by Deputy of the Supreme Council in Pridnestrovie Andrei Safonov on the First Pridnestrovian TV channel.

"Sales markets in Russia have closed down, and they previously absorbed up to 100% of agricultural products. Of course, the question remains: where to sell? Europe does things differently, it gives small quotas, based on this, many products rot. Or there is simply a "cutting down" of trees that bear fruit. Or the acreage is reduced, if we are talking about grain," he said.

At the same time, according to Safonov, there are no special organizations in Moldova that would protect local farmers and agrarians. He pointed out that for this reason, further deterioration of the situation can be expected.

Earlier, on October 25, Izvestia showed footage showing Moldovan farmers throwing away their apple crops. Journalist Vasily Moiseenko said that this has been happening for several years. Local farmers cite high fuel prices as the reason, as well as the inability to transport products to the territory of the Russian Federation without intermediaries.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
