Flight from Moscow was redirected to Varadero Airport due to Hurricane Melissa in Cuba

The Moscow–Holgin flight was diverted to Varadero Airport due to Hurricane Melissa in Cuba. As the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT) informed Izvestia on October 30, this decision was made for the safety of passengers.

It is specified that there are 433 people on board the ship. Tourists will be accommodated in hotels corresponding to the level of their initial booking for the entire period of the planned tour.

The hurricane hit mainly the eastern regions of Cuba, including the province of Holguin, where the plane was heading. The capital Havana and the resort of Varadero were not seriously affected.
