The State Duma adopted amendments on working hours for medical students in the second reading.

The State Duma adopted in the second reading a bill on compulsory work in state institutions for students of medical universities. This was reported on October 30 by the DumaTV TV channel.

According to the adopted bill, graduates of medical specialties who study at the expense of the state budget will be required to conclude contracts with regions, medical organizations or government departments. After their residency, they will have to work for three years under the contract.

"Students of medical education programs who violate the terms of the targeted training agreement will pay compensation to the budget in the amount of the amount spent on their education and a fine of two times the amount of compensation," the material says.

In the first reading of the bill, it was about all budgetary places in medical universities. According to the new amendments, only graduates of the residency program will work out. It is specified that they plan to make training in secondary professional medical colleges a target.
