PCT reported no reports from tourists in Cuba due to Hurricane Melissa
There have been no complaints or appeals from Russian tourists in Cuba due to Hurricane Melissa. This was reported in the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT).
"At the moment, there have been no complaints or appeals from organized tourists to tour operators. All Russian tour operators are in constant contact with our fellow citizens whenever technically possible," RIA Novosti reports.
It is noted that hurricane activity is observed in the eastern part of Cuba, in particular in the province of Holguin, where minor damage was caused to hotels that are not popular with tourists.
It is specified that most tourists are in the cities of Havana and Varadero, which are located in the north-west of the island, they were not affected by the raging elements.
The organization also stated that they are monitoring the situation with Hurricane Melissa in Cuba.
On October 29, President of the Republic Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez announced that 735,000 people had been evacuated due to Hurricane Melissa.
