In some areas of Kamchatka, there may be earthquakes of up to 10 points, which poses a threat to local infrastructure. This was announced on October 30 at the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

It is specified that the cities of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Yelizovo, and Vilyuchinsk are in the area of impact of natural disasters.

"An additional destructive factor in such events is the "liquefaction of soils", which leads to a loss of stability of any infrastructure facilities," said Alexey Ozerov, director of the institute, at a meeting of the public council under the Ministry of Construction of Russia, RIA Novosti news agency.

According to Ozerov, the most effective solution would be the legislative introduction of low-rise construction (2-3 floors) using the latest technologies and conducting high-tech testing.

Earlier, on October 28, six aftershocks with a magnitude of up to 4.8 occurred off the coast of Kamchatka. Then the ministry warned about the continued activity of the Shiveluch, Klyuchevsky, Bezymyanny, Karymsky, Kambalny and Krasheninnikov volcanoes.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
