Unknown persons stole more than 1,000 artifacts from the Oakland Museum of California. Local indigenous jewelry and other historical items have disappeared. This was reported on October 30 by The New York Post (NYP), citing the city's police.

According to law enforcement officers, the robbery occurred on the night of October 15th.

"Among the stolen items were baskets of Indian tribes, jewelry and other valuable items," the publication says.

It is noted that the building is equipped with video surveillance cameras and an alarm system, while there were no personnel at the time of the theft, employees learned about the incident only in the morning.

On October 19, French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati announced the robbery of the Louvre. According to her, the robbery took only a few minutes and was carried out by professionals. On the same day, Le Parisien learned about the discovery of the broken crown of Emperor Napoleon III's wife Eugenie, who, among other jewelry, was exhibited at the Apollo Gallery.

On October 19, law enforcement agencies discovered the items used by the intruders during the Louvre robbery. It was clarified that two grinders, a gas burner, a container of gasoline, gloves, a walkie-talkie and a blanket were found at the crime scene.

On October 21, investigators from the Anti-Banditry Brigade (BRB), together with employees of the Central Directorate for Combating Illicit Trafficking in Cultural Property (OCBC), found new physical evidence, namely a motorcycle helmet and a glove.

The Louvre opened its doors to visitors three days after the robbery. Four days later, experts determined that a security guard was involved in the robbery. In total, four people are wanted for the robbery.
