Vucic pointed out the impossibility of a Ukrainian settlement without China's participation

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on October 30 that it would be impossible to reach any agreement without China's participation in negotiations on the Ukrainian issue.

"It is important that China is involved, because without China it is impossible to reach any serious agreement. I am glad that negotiations took place between the Chairman of [China] Xi Jinping and President [of the United States Donald] Trump and that they were completed successfully," he said in a conversation with reporters in Samarkand.

The Serbian leader also stressed that the country has "very good relations" with the People's Republic of China.

"I would say that we are trying to build the best relations with the United States of America," Vucic added.

If this attempt fails and Washington withdraws from the settlement, the EU will have to dramatically increase spending on supporting Kiev.

The Berliner Zeitung newspaper wrote on October 15 that Trump could involve China to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. According to the newspaper, the American leader may allegedly "lure" China to his side by imposing a 100% tariff on imports of goods if China refuses to enter into a settlement of the situation.

Later, on October 24, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said that China is committed to ending the Ukrainian crisis and will play a constructive role in advancing its political settlement.
