Drivers will be notified about fraud with their CTP policies.
The National Insurance Information System (NSIS) will notify citizens about changes to their CTP policies made without the knowledge of the drivers themselves. This is stated in the operator's message, which was received by Izvestia on October 30.
The head of the company, Nikolai Galushin, said that from November 10, citizens will be warned about all changes that may occur with their CTP policies. Previously, motorists were notified based on the phone number and e-mail provided by insurers to the AIS system only when information about the conclusion of the contract was entered into in electronic form. Now notification will occur in case of registration of an addendum to the CTP agreement, as well as in case of termination, termination, cancellation of the agreement.
"We are working to enrich the data in the insurance AIS in terms of correct phone numbers and e—mail addresses of citizens so that the information reaches a specific recipient of the service," added Nikolai Galushin, head of the NSIS.
As the press service of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA) explained to Izvestia, this innovation can help in the fight against unscrupulous agents who "glue" an unprofitable client with a bona fide one and swap their bonus-malus coefficients.
Earlier, on October 27, it was reported that the State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation recommended the adoption in the first reading of a bill that prohibits repeated fines during the day for driving without CTP.
On October 24, a representative of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers told Izvestia that a pilot project for checking CTP from cameras could be launched in several regions by the end of 2025. Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma Committee on the financial Market, clarified that Moscow, St. Petersburg and Chuvashia are planning to join it. It is assumed that the mechanism will be extended to the whole country in October 2026.
