- The capacity of reactor No. 2 of Paks NPP in Hungary dropped by 50% due to a technical problem
Reactor No. 2 of the Paks nuclear Power Plant in Hungary is operating at 50% capacity due to a technical problem. This was announced on October 30 on the website of the Paksi atomerőmű Zrt company.
"Currently, the reactor plant is operating at a capacity level of 50%," the publication says.
It is specified that this happened due to a failure of the electrical protection signal.
Earlier, on September 12, Thomas Rainier, the official representative of the European Commission (EC), announced the launch of a new procedure for approving Hungary's financing of the construction of Paks-2 nuclear power plants with the participation of Rosatom after the decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union (EU). On September 15, Hungary and Russia on the sidelines of the general conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna agreed to accelerate investments in the construction of the Paks-2 NPP.
