The first-generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class model is considered one of the most unsuccessful models of the brand that can be found on the Russian secondary market. On October 30, auto expert Alexander Kovalev told about this.

According to him, many fans of the brand do not consider the A-Class to be the "real" Mercedes-Benz and delete it from the brand's history. This car incorporated all the questionable decisions of that time — from a controversial design to an outright unsuccessful design, the expert said.

"The engines suffered from oil leaks and problems with the injectors, and the CVT often failed already on small runs. At the same time, the car itself was created with an eye to reducing the cost — the build quality was mediocre, but the maintenance costs remained premium," the Rossiyskaya Gazeta quotes Kovalev.

The specialist called the C-Class in the W204 body, which is equipped with an M271 engine, the second dubious Mercedes-Benz in the secondary market. This unit requires perfect maintenance, otherwise it will face expensive repairs. Kovalev also included the M-Class crossover of the early 2000s in the rating of unsuccessful models, which, although it has a low price, is characterized by very poor reliability.

Earlier, on October 13, Kovalev warned that Skoda Superb and Octavia cars, which can be found on the Russian secondary market, often have electrical problems, regardless of generation, from control units to contacts in door harnesses.

On September 15, the expert named frankly problematic examples of Nissan cars on the Russian secondary market and singled out the third-generation Pathfinder.
