Due to the shift of the economic center of the world towards Southeast Asia, which occurred earlier, countries have the opportunity to develop their economies independently. This was announced on October 30 by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk at a press conference on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.

According to him, for three years, countries have been worried about the disruption of supply chains, because they believed that globalization was necessary for everyone. However, the shift of the economic center of the world towards Southeast Asia has changed the situation in the world.

"Countries today have the resources to carry out independent production. We have accumulated enough knowledge to develop economies on our own," he said.

He noted that financial integration is also underway, which includes, among other things, lending and the delivery of goods. This, as Overchuk noted, makes them resistant to "all kinds of external shocks, to sanctions."

On October 6, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to send a Russian delegation to the APEC summit in South Korea, which runs from October 29 to November 2. Then it was reported that Overchuk would lead the delegation.

On October 30, it became known that Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump traveled to South Korea to attend the summit. At a meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, the American leader promised to end the conflict between North Korea and South Korea.
