In Jerusalem, hundreds of thousands of Orthodox Jews will take part in a spontaneous rally against conscription. Footage of the October 30 event is published by Izvestia.

To ensure security, the police have been put on high alert. Jerusalem's central railway station will be closed for the duration of the rally, and the main highway connecting Jerusalem with Tel Aviv will be closed to private transport in both directions. Central streets will also be blocked inside the city.

The action will take place on the streets of Jerusalem under the name "Protest of a million". At the same time, railway stations in Israeli cities are already crowded, but believers continue to gather. The presented footage shows that the participants of the action are standing at the train station.

"Thousands of ultra-Orthodox from all over Israel are already heading towards Jerusalem, where the largest rally of ultra-Orthodox against mobilization into the Israeli army will be held. A lot of ultra-Orthodox people want to attend the rally, but the Israeli railway will soon stop all trains due to the fact that it is very dangerous," said Nikita Kulyukhin, a correspondent for Izvestia.

He also added that the Orthodox want to continue studying the Torah, considering it their main duty. However, the Israeli government and society insist on the equality of all citizens, noting that everyone should be "part of the people's army."

In July last year, it was reported that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had sent 1,000 summonses to recruits from the ultra-Orthodox community between the ages of 18 and 26. At the same time, religious parties in the Knesset demanded that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pass a law by the end of the summer session of parliament that would exempt Orthodox Christians from military service. At that time, there were about 67,000 Orthodox men in the country who were subject to conscription.
