Criminal cases on the fact of the pogrom are considered in absentia by the Supreme Court of Dagestan. The defendants are former State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomarev (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent, listed as a terrorist and extremist), the alleged administrator of the Telegram channel "Morning Dagestan" Abakar Abakarov, as well as Israil Akhmednabiyev (known as Abu Umar Sasitlinsky), who was put on the international wanted list for creating a terrorist community.
