How the Sisters of Mercy project helps its participants

Muscovites actively support participants in the special military operation (SVO) through the Moscow Helps headquarters and their own volunteer initiatives. One of these projects was the Sisters of Mercy of the non-profit organization Circles of the World. This was announced on October 30 by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, on the website mos.ru .

The Sisters of Mercy project of the Circles of the World non-profit organization unites more than 100 female volunteers who help ITS members undergoing treatment in federal military hospitals in Moscow. The name of the project reflects the tradition of selfless service and support for others.

"In the Sisters of Mercy project, we not only support the fighters, but also create a space for personal growth, exchange of experience and strengthening of cultural and spiritual values," said Gulmira Khazhmuldinova, project coordinator.

It is reported that in order to join the project, it is necessary to complete training, including theoretical and practical classes in anatomy, basic nursing and psychology. As Khazhmuldinova noted, special skills are not required — the main thing is a sincere desire to help.

It is reported that there are people of different professions among the volunteers. Anna Smirnova, an English teacher and mother of four, considers it a human mission to support people in difficult situations.

"Perhaps it seems to someone that volunteering in hospitals requires special efforts, including moral ones. But by helping the fighters, we ourselves receive energy, solace and joy. We call the hospital our place of strength," she shared.

Earlier, on October 29, it was reported that Muscovites had made more than 9.7 thousand transfers and collected over 6.8 million rubles as part of the "Power of Support" charity event. The campaign started on September 5th. Residents of Moscow were able to support their fighters with the help of points received for active participation in the electronic projects of the capital "City of Ideas", "Active Citizen", "Electronic House" and others.
