Residents of Kiev are anxiously awaiting the onset of winter, fearing an energy collapse. As the German newspaper Bild reported on October 20, citing a source in the capital, 55-60% of Ukrainian gas infrastructure facilities were damaged.

"The coming winter will be the most severe," the source said.

He noted that the situation would become catastrophic if Ukraine's energy system was not restored.

Earlier, on October 28, it was reported that German Foreign Minister Johann Vadefuhl called the upcoming winter crucial for Ukraine. Germany is ready to provide support to the country, the minister stressed, given the special responsibility of Germany in this matter.
