Almost 100 thousand young Ukrainians left the country in two months after the relaxation of exit rules, The Daily Telegraph reports, citing data from the Polish border guard service. We are talking about citizens of Ukraine aged 18-22 years.

Since August 28, when Kiev lifted travel restrictions for this group of men, 98.5 thousand people have crossed the border. For comparison, from January to the end of August 2025, this figure was 45.3 thousand.

"The increase in the number of people leaving is impressive: if before August about 19 people came to Germany per week, then by mid—September there were about a thousand of them, and by October – 1.4-1.8 thousand weekly," the newspaper notes.

Most of the young Ukrainians are going to Germany, which, according to the Telegraph, is comparable to the size of the entire British army — about 70 thousand people.

Earlier, on October 20, it was reported that the Vienna authorities decided to close the last Quartier Schlossberg reception center for Ukrainian refugees by the end of 2025. The center, designed for 200 people, was overcrowded. Since its opening, 8,900 displaced persons have received assistance, including short-term accommodation, meals and legal services.
