- NI reported on the development of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation firing up to 200 km bombs with UMPK
The Russian Armed Forces (RF Armed Forces) have developed and deployed a number of aerial bombs with a universal UMPC planning and correction module with a range of up to 120 miles (200 km). This was reported on October 29 by The National Interest (NI), citing sources.
The Russian Aerospace Forces have developed and deployed "experimental long-range aviation munitions" that can hit targets from 90 to 120 miles away.
It is noted that several different munitions are being tested, for example, the Grom-E1.
According to the publication, UDMCS turn "dumb" bombs into "smart" ones by pairing them with a wide range of conventional bombs, including 2,000-pound, 1,000-pound and 500-pound ammunition. According to NI, this will make it possible to create a guided all-weather bomb that can hit targets with high accuracy.
