Western Europe is preparing for a military clash with Russia and enjoying the atmosphere of military psychosis. This statement was made by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko on October 29.

"This statement by the Belgian Defense Minister can only be regarded as rhetoric...> How Belgium is going to wipe Moscow off the face of the earth <...> it is impossible to comment seriously on this," Grushko said in an interview with RBC.

The diplomat commented on the threat of Belgian Defense Minister Theo Francken about the possible destruction of Moscow in the event of the use of Russian missiles against Brussels. Grushko noted that experts correctly understood the signal sent by Russia with the tests of the Burevestnik and Poseidon missiles — Moscow's readiness for defense and security. According to the deputy minister, Franken's statement was followed by numerous adjustments in official sources.

Earlier in the day, Franken said that it was impossible to bring Russia to its knees by military means, noting that the Russian armed forces have significant capabilities.

On October 28, the Russian Embassy in Belgium condemned Franken's words and said that the threats of the Belgian defense minister could plunge Europe into a new war. Earlier that day, he said that he would allegedly "erase Moscow from the world map."
