- Terrorists in Sudan have seized a maternity hospital and killed all doctors and patients
More than 460 people died as a result of the storming of a maternity hospital in the Sudanese city of Al-Fasher by militants from the Rapid Reaction Force (RSF). This was reported by the Bild newspaper on October 29, citing data from the World Health Organization (WHO).
"They killed everyone in the hospital in cold blood, including the patients, their escorts, and everyone else in the wards," the newspaper quoted eyewitnesses as saying.
The clinic was captured by militants after a year and a half of the siege of El Fasher. According to WHO, the attack was accompanied by the abduction of medical personnel.
According to the newspaper, since April 2023, the RSF, under the command of General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, has been waging a war with the Sudanese army for control of resources and power.
As reported by "Gazeta.Ru" with reference to WHO data, 185 attacks on medical institutions were recorded during the conflict, which killed 1,204 people.
On October 29, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Russian Federation reported that Russia was concerned about incoming information about massive human rights violations in the Sudanese city of Al-Fasher, which had come under the control of militants from the Rapid Reaction Forces group. Russia insists on the need to end the fighting and activate a full-scale political process.
