UAZ has allowed the appearance of an automatic transmission in SUVs
Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant does not exclude the installation of an automatic transmission on off-road vehicles "Patriot", "Pickup" and "Profi". However, the timing of the possible appearance of the "automaton" has not yet been determined. This was reported on October 29 by TASS with reference to a representative of the company's press service.
"In a certain future, a transmission of this type can indeed be expected on NMR vehicles (of the new Patriot, Pickup, and Pro model range)," they said.
It is too early to talk about the timing of the introduction of the "automatic". Currently, UAZ's main efforts are aimed at fine-tuning new modifications with a diesel and an updated gasoline engine, as well as with a manual transmission, the company noted.
Earlier, on October 7, it was reported that the capacity of the new press production at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant will amount to 20 thousand body kits per year. The production of the press line began at the plant in January of this year, it is one of the largest projects of the enterprise in recent decades.
On September 29, it became known that the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant released a batch of gasoline Patriots and Pickups with a new six-speed manual transmission, which will be sent for certification tests. In early September, UAZ began completing a test cycle of the upgraded 150-horsepower 2.7-liter ZMZ Pro gasoline engine.
