Nutritionist Victoria Govorushko warned about the dangers of combining meat with potatoes and pasta.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Wednesday, October 29, the expert noted that modern scientific evidence has long refuted old dogmas and offered a simpler understanding of the principles of comfortable digestion. She recalled that the theory of separate nutrition, put forward by an American scientist back in the 1920s, has been considered outdated for about 15 years, since the approach to the work of the gastrointestinal tract has been revised.
At the same time, the specialist added that some observations from this concept may be useful. For example, combinations like "meat with potatoes" or "meat with pasta" often cause bloating and heaviness in some people. However, she stressed, such reactions are individual — much depends on the habits and digestive characteristics of a particular person.

Thus, excessive consumption of foods rich in carbohydrates leads to fermentation processes in the intestines and bloating, abdominal pain.
