Tricolor and Roscosmos have published a list of finalists for the National Chevron competition, selected by an expert jury. The All-Russian voting for the emblem that will go into space aboard the Soyuz MS-28 has started.

The decisive stage of the All-Russian National Chevron competition has begun: every Russian citizen will be able to vote for the best sketch of the emblem, which will become part of the crew uniform of the Soyuz MS-28 mission and will go down in the history of Russian cosmonautics. During the three weeks of accepting entries, the competition received more than a thousand sketches from all regions of the country, including both individual applications and collective works, including from entire school classes. Voting will last until November 2 and will be held in the official Tricolor community on VKontakte.

A chevron is not just a patch. It is a mission symbol that unites the crew members, reflects the objectives of the flight and captures its composition. This year, as part of the Soyuz MS-28 mission, two chevrons will appear at once: the official one, developed jointly with the cosmonauts, and the national one, created by one of the participants in the All—Russian competition and selected by open voting. The winning design of the People's Chevron will be applied to the uniforms of Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and Sergey Mikaev, as well as NASA astronaut Christopher Williams, who will travel to the International Space Station from the Baikonur cosmodrome in late November 2025.

The jury of the competition, which included leading figures of culture, art and cosmonautics, has already selected 10 finalists from more than a thousand works sent from all over the country. Among the experts are director Klim Shipenko, cosmonauts: Oleg Kononenko— commander of the cosmonaut squad, as well as Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, commander of the Soyuz MS—28 spacecraft, ballet dancer and choreographer Yuri Smekalov, animation director Konstantin Bronzit, actor Pavel Derevyanko, soloist of the Culture Room group Zhenya Trofimov, blogger Alexey Stolyarov, Vyacheslav Pravdzinsky, head of the Senezh State Design Workshop, and Dmitry Nabidzhanov, Creative Director of Tricolor.

"Space has always inspired artists, filmmakers, and dreamers. The People's Chevron is a unique opportunity for everyone to contribute to the history of Russian cosmonautics. What is being created by the hands of ordinary citizens now will become part of the legend tomorrow," said Klim Shipenko, director, screenwriter and producer.

"The People's Chevron is not just someone's drawing. It is a symbol of our aspirations for a stellar future. It is very touching that today everyone can offer their own vision of space — and this vision can go where only a select few have been so far," said Konstantin Bronzit, one of Russia's leading animation directors.

The author of the winning sketch will receive the main prize — a trip for two to the launch of Soyuz MS-28 from the Baikonur cosmodrome. The remaining nine finalists will be awarded a novelty in the Tricolor line of electronics — QLED TVs with a diagonal of 65 inches, so that they can watch the launch of the mission in maximum quality.

The voting results will be announced on November 3. The winning chevron will officially become part of the crew's equipment and will go into space, perpetuating the contribution of the people to a new chapter of the Russian cosmonautics.
