VKontakte has launched a new type of shopping — the so-called shopping. According to the press service of VKontakte, these are publications with product cards that can be used to make a purchase. The new content format allows users to shop on social media, authors to earn money from advertising products, and businesses to increase their reach and stimulate sales.

To monetize shopping, the authors have access to a referral program, the first partner of which was Ozon. During the two months of testing the program, the authors earned more than 500 million rubles, helping entrepreneurs develop their business: advertising content gained more than 2.2 billion views.

Shopping can be found in any format: posts, clips, stories, live broadcasts and long videos. Thanks to the updated recommendation algorithms, users see relevant product content for them. Product cards and links simplify the purchase: you no longer need to take screenshots, rewrite articles or search for goods manually — just click on the publication and place an order without leaving the social network.

The authors of VKontakte have received a new monetization opportunity through a referral program. Creators can remove content from products and receive a percentage of each sale upon publication. The catalog of products for advertising is available on the VK AdBlogger platform for collaboration between authors and businesses.

Brands can create shops on their own, shaping their image and increasing sales. To reach a wider audience and gain their trust, businesses can order advertising from authors. An entrepreneur does not need to draw up a technical assignment and select bloggers — interested authors will independently take the product to work. Ozon sellers can determine the percentage of remuneration that the author receives for selling the product.
