Every tenth working resident of the capital is employed in the industrial sector of Moscow, more than 755 thousand people in total. This was stated by Anatoly Garbuzov, head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, during a press conference summarizing the results of October, which was declared Moscow Industry Month by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

According to Garbuzov's estimates, 20 industries are represented in the capital — from food to oil refining. "They provide citizens with necessary goods, develop innovative products, and train new personnel," the head of the department emphasized.

Moscow places a special emphasis on the development of high-tech enterprises, Garbuzov noted. "Already, their share in the total revenue of the capital's industries is about 42%, and, for example, every fifth industrialist is employed in radio electronics," he said.

Garbuzov said that within the framework of the month of industry, a number of events were held in the capital aimed at popularizing achievements in the industrial sector. So, on October 7, the city celebrated the Day of Moscow Industry, awarding honored workers and enterprises of Moscow. The winners were 13 companies, including manufacturers of medical devices, microchips, laser systems, and vehicles.

The Moscow Investment and Industrial Forum, which will become an annual event, was also held in October for the first time. During the forum, participants discussed the growth potential of high-tech industries and a strategy for attracting investment in the city's industrial infrastructure.

In addition, Moscow summed up the results of the country's main industrial award — "The Best Industrial Design in Russia," Garbuzov recalled. In total, 500 applications from 63 regions were received for participation in the award. 68 projects became winners, 31 of which were developed by Moscow enterprises.
