Evgeny Serebryakov, accused of blowing up a serviceman's SUV in Moscow (listed as a terrorist and extremist by Rosfinmonitoring), pleaded guilty. This was reported on October 29 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the hall of the Second Western District Military Court.

At the same time, the court decided on a closed trial in the Serebryakov case. The defendant also pleaded guilty to committing a terrorist act and to possession and manufacture of explosives. The defendant believes that the charges are justified.

"An open trial will lead to the disclosure of state secrets and other legally protected secrets, and the interests of the victims and their loved ones will be violated," the judge announced.

The investigation revealed that the defendant worked as an analyst in a bank, had no previous criminal record, was not married, and had no children. It has been established that Serebryakov, being part of a criminal group, agreed to commit a terrorist act aimed at intimidating the population and destabilizing the work of state authorities for a monetary reward and guarantees of relocation to Ukraine.

The criminals chose an employee of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation as their first target. The defendant was supposed to collect information about the investigator and install an improvised explosive device under his car. However, the attackers were unable to complete this plan. Then the new victim was a participant in the special operation, an employee of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. So, in July last year, Serebryakov placed explosives under his car and disappeared, and his accomplice remotely activated the device.

Investigators completed the investigation of Serebryakov's criminal case in September of this year. As part of his testimony, Serebryakov told how he followed the white Volkswagen Polo. He also showed the investigator the place where he hid components for making explosives, a video surveillance camera, remote controls, radio antennas and other items used in the preparation of the crime.

An SUV exploded in a parking lot near a residential apartment building in Moscow on July 24, 2024. As a result, a man was injured, whose limbs were torn off. The woman sitting next to him received lacerations to her face. At the same time, the suspect in the car bombing was detained in Turkey.
