A court in the Sverdlovsk region sent a 37-year-old driver who caused a fatal accident in Revda to jail for two months. This was reported on October 29 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

A driver hit three girls and crashed into a store building in the Sverdlovsk region on October 27.

As a result of the accident, two sisters aged seven and nine died at the scene. The third injured girl was taken to the Yekaterinburg hospital, where doctors continue to fight for her life. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.

On October 27, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Part 6 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules under the influence of alcohol, resulting in the death of two people") on the death of the girls. The sanction of this article provides for up to 15 years of imprisonment for the driver.

The hospitalization of a girl in serious condition as a result of an accident in Revda became known on October 27. Two more children died. As noted in the regional State Traffic Inspectorate, the driver of the Lada car lost control and hit three girls who were on the sidewalk at that moment and were waiting for the green light.
