Misunderstanding Island caught fire near Magadan

A major fire occurred on Misunderstanding Island near Magadan. This was announced on October 29 by Pavel Beregovoy, head of the Regional Management Center of the Magadan Region, in his Telegram channel.

"Yesterday there was a fire on the lands of the forest fund. The reasons will be determined, but it seems that this is a human factor," Beregovoy wrote.

The Fire Service of the Magadan region has delivered six Aviation security specialists to the island, who are engaged in localizing the source of the fire. Rescuers of the regional fire and rescue center are ready to join the extinguishing at the request of the head of work.

According to Beregovoy, there is currently no threat to existing buildings on the island.
