Units of the Russian Armed Forces secured the surrender of 12 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) who were surrounded in the Kupyansk area of the Kharkiv region. This was announced on October 29 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"Measures are being taken to convince the encircled Ukrainian servicemen to give up resistance and surrender. A group of 12 militants announced their readiness to surrender in exchange for guarantees of life," the department's Telegram channel says.

It is noted that options for their safe evacuation are currently being worked out.

In addition, over the past day, six units of enemy military equipment, as well as up to 55 Ukrainian militants, were eliminated in the Kupyansk area.

On September 24, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian military personnel had seized 115 buildings in the city of Kupyansk.

Later, on October 27, four attempts by Ukrainian militants to break out of the encirclement on the right bank of the Oskol River through destroyed crossings near Petrovka were stopped in Kupyansk. The next day, it became known that in the Kupyansk area, units of the sixth army continued to compress the encirclement of the AFU group.
