In Khabarovsk, work continues on the demolition of the building of the regional academic musical theater that burned down a year ago. As reported by IA AmurMedia on October 29, only one wall remained of the building.

The first stage of work at the facility started on October 17. To demolish the building, an excavator with a 32-meter boom and hydraulic shears at the end was used to destroy from top to bottom.

As of October 29, only one wall and construction debris on the site remained of the theater building. The demolition of the burnt-out business card of the city should be fully completed by December 20.

The fire on the territory of the Khabarovsk Regional Musical Comedy Theater occurred on the morning of October 3, 2024. Its area was 4 thousand square meters. m. During the firefighting, four gas cylinders exploded on the spot, the stage collapsed, and then the facade and the exterior wall. The building's fire protection system, automatic fire extinguishing, and fire curtain on the stage did not work.

A criminal case was opened. As it turned out, the building was undergoing major repairs to the roof at that time, which had started leaking in the summer. The investigation found that the fire started due to careless welding work, and its cause was a gross violation of safety regulations.

The fire damage is estimated at almost 1 billion rubles. In September 2025, hearings on the criminal case began in the Central District Court of Khabarovsk.
