Medvedchuk called on the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to think about their lives and lay down their weapons.

Viktor Medvedchuk, chairman of the Other Ukraine movement, called on the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to think about saving their lives and lay down their weapons. The corresponding appeal was published on the official website of the movement on October 29.

"[Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky can still save the Ukrainian soldiers in the encirclement by ordering them to lay down their weapons," the statement said.

According to Medvedchuk, this step will give a great impetus to the negotiation process for a peaceful settlement of the conflict. He also noted that the head of the Kiev regime can only bring Ukraine "new victims and sufferings."

Thus, the politician cited the example of the Ukrainian Armed Forces encirclement near Krasnoarmeysky and Kupyansk and stressed that the Ukrainian authorities are not able to adequately respond to the events taking place at the front.

Earlier, on October 27, the Ministry of Defense reported the suppression of four attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to break out of the encirclement in Kupyansk through destroyed crossings in the Petrovka area.

According to a report by Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the Russian General Staff, dated October 26, a group of more than 10,000 Armed Forces personnel is now surrounded in the Kupyansk and Red Army directions. Russian Leader Vladimir Putin, in order to minimize unnecessary casualties, called for all measures to be taken so that Ukrainians would surrender, since the Russian army has historically always treated a defeated enemy with mercy.

Zelensky admitted on the same day that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were in a difficult situation in Krasnoarmeysk and pointed to tough battles and logistical problems for the Ukrainian army.
