- Peskov commented on Russia's alleged involvement in the desecration of the memorial in France.
On October 29, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on Russia's alleged involvement in the desecration of the Holocaust memorial in France, said that the accusations should be supported by evidence.
"If France accuses Russia of participating in this action, if these accusations are made during the trial, then they must be supported by some reliable evidence or arguments. If this does not happen, then it probably casts a shadow on those who make such accusations. As a rule, almost always all such accusations remain unfounded and unsupported by anything," he said during a briefing.
On October 22, Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to France Alexei Meshkov told Izvestia that Russian-French relations were at the stage of a "deep freeze" due to the lack of dialogue between the countries. He added that no concrete steps had been taken after the telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron in the summer.
