According to him, harmful substances, including nicotine, have a cumulative effect on eggs, which are not renewed during life.
"In men, spermatogenesis lasts a lifetime, and spermatozoa are updated at different rates, but they are updated nonetheless. But in women, everything they use, including nicotine, is reflected in her eggs, and new eggs are not formed," the medical examiner noted.
He explained that when a girl is born, a certain set of eggs is formed, which are affected by the substances she consumes throughout her life, even if the egg has not yet developed. In this regard, according to him, eggs are susceptible to aging, and in this sense, the effect on the female body is more harmful.
The expert refuted the widespread opinion that vapes are a less harmful alternative to regular cigarettes or help to quit smoking.
"Replacing traditional smoking with vapes is a surrogate, it's self—deception, and the only way to get rid of these habits is to simply quit smoking one day, eliminating these substances from your life," the expert noted.
According to Reshetun, quitting smoking once and for all is the only effective way to maintain health.
Earlier, on October 21, it was reported that the State Duma passed the first reading of a bill proposing to ban the sale of nicotine-containing products at public transport stops. It is noted that the bill provides for a ban on the retail sale of tobacco and nicotine-containing products, hookahs and devices for their consumption at stops of all types of public transport, including urban and suburban transport.
