Dmitriev intends to sue WP for misrepresentation of facts
Kirill Dmitriev, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, intends to sue the Washington Post (WP) newspaper for misrepresentation of facts.
Dmitriev repeatedly wrote on the social network X about editorial errors: the newspaper repeatedly attributed quotes to Dmitriev that did not belong to him.
"The careless or biased Ms. Dixon is doing it again—misquoting me in yesterday's article. It's time to correct yourself again, apologize again, and finally learn a lesson," the publication says.
However, there was no response from the newspaper a few hours after the repeated accusation. In this regard, the head of the RDIF left a comment. in which he expressed his intention to sue the publication.
"Tomorrow we will file an application to the court. We gave them enough time to fix it, but they didn't fix it anyway," Dmitriev stressed.
Earlier, on October 18, Dmitriev called on WP to apologize for the quote mistakenly attributed to him, as well as launch an internal investigation. The Washington Post attributed the following quote to Dmitriev in an article: "The result of [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Putin's tour Zelensky in one sentence — [Russian President Vladimir] Putin has outplayed everyone again."
