A military expert spoke about the features of the Ukrainian Ruta missile

Due to its low cost, the Ukrainian Ruta missile was created to distract the attention of the Russian Armed Forces (RF Armed Forces). He informed the portal about this on October 28. News.ru military expert and historian of the air defense forces Yuri Knutov.

"Ruta" is a decoy rocket or decoy. Due to its not very high cost and not very powerful warhead, it can cause not so much harm. <...> At the same time, we will still shoot down missiles and spend expensive ammunition, as they believe in Ukraine," Knutov explained.

According to the expert, Ukraine expects that the Russian air defense forces will be distracted by this type of missile in order to strike with stronger missiles, while spending more Russian ammunition.

However, according to the expert, Ukraine still depends on its European colleagues, since the Ruta missiles are manufactured in Switzerland.

"The Ruta rocket was developed by a Swiss company, but the owner is a citizen of Ukraine who simply registered his company in Switzerland. <...> It will all be produced abroad," Knutov said.
