The Russian Oreshnik missile system will be put on combat duty in Belarus in December. This was announced on October 28 by Natalia Eismont, the press secretary of the President of the country.

Earlier in the day, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko said that Minsk could suspend the deployment of the Oreshnik if Europe was ready to take similar steps. According to Lukashenko, some European countries have already announced plans to deploy medium-range missile systems.
