The Russian Foreign Ministry announced the intensification of NATO intelligence in the Baltic and the Black Sea

The NATO military alliance has stepped up its reconnaissance near Russia's sea and air borders on the Black Sea and the Baltic, and continues to build up military capabilities on the borders with the Russian Federation. This was announced on October 28 by Konstantin Vorontsov, Deputy Director of the Department for Non-Proliferation and Arms Control at the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"NATO continues to build up its military capabilities on the borders with our country. <...> The duration of stay of NATO ships in the Black Sea has been increased. Intelligence activities have intensified near our sea and air borders in the Baltic and the Black Sea," RIA Novosti quoted the diplomat as saying at a meeting of the first committee of the UN General Assembly.

In addition, in the Baltic states, the States of the Black Sea region and Poland, the bloc is strengthening the number and combat capabilities of multinational battalion tactical groups and brigades.

Vorontsov stressed that until NATO abandons its "policy of neglecting Russia's security interests," it will be impossible to resume dialogue with the alliance. It is clearly noticeable that the NATO countries "have moved to the practical implementation of a course towards open confrontation with Russia."

Air signs: NATO will practice the use of tactical nuclear weapons

Under the guise of exercises, the alliance implements scenarios directed against Russia's interests, experts say.

On October 15, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov said that NATO had stepped up intelligence and combat training work on the eastern flank, which is located on the border with Russia and Belarus. Belousov added that the total number of forces that were involved by NATO in the past exercises near the eastern borders of the organization amounted to about 60 thousand troops.

Earlier, on September 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that NATO and the European Union (EU) continue to whip up hysteria around Russia's alleged plans to attack Europe. According to him, any sane person is aware that the Russian Federation has no desire to ever attack anyone.
