Film screenings and reenactments will be held in Moscow on National Unity Day.
About 350 locations will join the celebration of National Unity Day in Moscow, including the Moskino Film Park, VDNH, and cultural centers. The main part of the events is scheduled for November 4, said Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of the capital.
"More than 400 events will be held at VDNKh and many other cultural and leisure venues," Sergunina said. She invited Muscovites and tourists to historical reenactments, concerts, excursions, lectures and creative workshops.
So, on November 4, a performance with the participation of reenactors will be held on the central square of the Moskino Film Park. It will introduce the events of the Time of Troubles, when the merchant Kuzma Minin and Prince Dmitry Pozharsky gathered a militia to fight the Polish invaders. Also on the day of the holiday, a sightseeing tour "National Unity in the symbols of VDNH architecture" will be held at VDNH. The museum of Slavic writing "Slovo" will tell about the influence of the Cyrillic alphabet on the culture of Russia. On the same day, the Film Museum will show the Soviet film "Minin and Pozharsky" and animated films about Ilya Muromets.
