On October 28, the striker of the Spartak Moscow hockey club, Ivan Morozov, confessed to using a prohibited substance out of competition.

"I honestly admit to violating the anti-doping rules. The use occurred during an out-of-competition period and was not related to sports or competitions. I realize my mistake, fully accept responsibility, and sincerely regret what happened. I apologize to the club's management, coaching staff, team and, of course, the fans," Morozov wrote on Instagram (owned by Meta, whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).

According to the hockey player, traces of cocaine were found in his doping sample taken by the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) on August 29, 2025.

Morozov added that he is currently undergoing therapy and receiving the necessary help from specialists.

On September 16, Ivan Morozov was temporarily suspended from matches due to a banned substance found in a hockey player's doping test. It is noted that the club has received an official notification from RUSADA with information that a prohibited substance has been detected in the sample of striker Ivan Morozov. Spartak decided to temporarily suspend the athlete from participating in the training process and team matches until the circumstances are finally established.
