Nafiset Khachmafova, a therapist at the Krasnogorsk Hospital, spoke on Tuesday, October 28, about the dangers of photo shoots with autumn leaves for health.

The expert explained that fallen leaves often contain microorganisms, pollutants and allergens, Radio 1 notes. According to her, when the foliage is thrown, a dangerous aerosol with dust, fungal spores and bacteria rises into the air, which can irritate the respiratory tract and cause severe allergic reactions.

She stressed that it is especially dangerous to collect leaves near roads and industrial areas, where heavy metals, petroleum products, soot and other toxins accumulate on them. These substances can enter the body through the skin or respiratory tract.

The doctor also noted that mold, saprophytes, mites and insect larvae are actively developing in fallen leaves, which can lead to skin mycosis, allergic dermatitis and inflammatory complications in people with weakened immune systems, the Moscow City News agency notes. In addition, there may be parasites and pathogens of intestinal infections on the leaves, especially if animals are walking nearby.

Doctors advise admiring autumn foliage only visually, and using safer materials for creativity, notes 360.ru .

On October 11, expert Marina Chumakova, in an interview with RT, warned that autumn foliage attracts people with its beauty, but you should be careful with it. The specialist reminded that after contact with the leaves, you need to wash your hands and not touch your face, as microbes actively multiply in a humid environment. She also pointed out the risk of hypothermia and allergies.

In September, it was reported that with the onset of autumn, there is an exacerbation of allergic reactions, which manifest themselves in the form of skin itching, rashes, frequent sneezing, wheezing, chest tightness and an increasing cough. Doctors recommend that you deal with prevention, monitor the manifestation of allergies during the changing seasons and contact specialists in a timely manner.

Earlier, allergist and immunologist Nadezhda Logina said that autumn allergies are mainly manifested by respiratory diseases. Allergic reactions can manifest themselves in the form of rhinitis, tracheitis, nasal congestion, sneezing, coughing, and exacerbation of bronchial asthma. Fungi, wet foliage and trees, as well as relatively warm weather can be allergens, NSN notes.
