The ex-MP of the European Parliament stated the need for Europe in cultural exchange with Russia

European countries need to establish cultural cooperation, because European residents are being deprived of their history and future due to attempts to isolate Russia. This was announced to Izvestia on October 28 by a Czech politician, a member of the European Parliament (EP) from 2004 to 2019, Jiri Mashtalka.

"This is, of course, an unpleasant situation. They are trying to tear off, <...> isolate Russia. It turns out that the Europeans, in particular, are being deprived of their history and their future. God forbid that they remain sitting like this in their isolated tent called Brussels," he said, answering a question from the editorial board, at an international forum of representatives of Alumni Associations.

According to the former MP, Europe needs to establish cultural cooperation. He believes that the European Commission (EC) and the European Parliament should deal with this. Mashtalk also said that "the rest of the world" will inevitably develop and European countries should go in the same direction. In his opinion, peace is impossible under the conditions of the sanctions policy.

On October 23, the head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, announced that the European Union (EU) had adopted the 19th package of sanctions against Russia. She noted that the restrictions are aimed, in particular, at Russian banks, cryptocurrency exchanges, organizations in India and China. At the same time, the European Union will restrict the movement of Russian diplomats.

On the same day, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow considers the new US restrictive measures against Russian oil companies to be counterproductive. At the same time, she stressed that the new sanctions would not create significant problems for Russia.
