Writer Oleg Roy proposed setting an age limit of 12+ for the popular children's animated series Masha and the Bear, stating that it was not suitable for a children's audience. In response, Sholokhov expressed doubt about the validity of such statements, arguing that they are aimed at creating PR and have no real basis.

"From the excerpts that I know, I didn't get the impression of something "only for adults." And the proposed age is perplexing. <...> I am sure that such measures, apart from PR, can not give anything," said the deputy.

He noted that such restrictions often arouse unhealthy interest.
