The Znanie educational marathon will be held in Moscow at the Rossiya National Center.Science. More than 5,000 schoolchildren, students and young scientists from 82 regions of Russia, as well as Abkhazia, will take part in the marathon. They will be inspired by the achievements of Russian science and learn how scientific discoveries are changing the world for the better. The organizers are the Znanie Society and Moscow Polytechnic University with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The event is dedicated to the Decade of Science and Technology.
Marathon Knowledge.Science will reveal the importance of science for all spheres of human activity, from industry to culture. Through vivid lectures and conversations, familiarization with unique scientific projects and meetings with scientists, participants will see how science expands human capabilities and changes the world. Among the participants of the marathon are schoolchildren, students, active youth representatives and young scientists from the Russian Academy of Sciences, State scientific centers, members of the Circle Movement of the National Technical Initiative.
"Our scientists are giving the world breakthrough technologies year after year. Their legacy is not only a cause for pride, but also a source of inspiration for new generations of researchers. Today's schoolchildren and students are the successors of Tsiolkovsky, Mendeleev, Kurchatov and other outstanding representatives of Russian science. The program will include 4 tracks. The track "Science in Action: from theory to breakthrough" will reveal the impact of science on various industries and will allow us to trace the path of scientific discoveries from the idea to implementation in real sectors of the economy. The track "Science and Technology of the Future: horizons of new discoveries" will become a platform for discussing futurological forecasts, promising technologies and global challenges of the coming decades. As part of the track "Heroes of Progress: profession — scientist", lecturers will talk about career paths in science, the specifics of training research personnel and the role of scientific leaders. The track "Science as Art: popularization of scientific knowledge" will touch on the topic of promoting science through media (TV, social networks) and introduce the process of visualizing science through art and infographics.
