A threefold increase in onion imports from China was recorded in Transbaikalia

About 15,865 tons of onions from China have been imported through the Zabaikalsk checkpoint since the beginning of 2025. This is almost three times more than in the same period a year earlier, when 5,216 tons were imported.

According to the press service of the regional Rosselkhoznadzor, despite the significant increase in supplies, the results of laboratory tests remain consistently positive.

All products have passed full phytosanitary control. Vegetables, in particular, have undergone entomological and helminthological examinations. As a result of the inspections, no quarantine facilities were found, writes ChitaMedia news agency.
