Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on October 28 that the future architecture of European security should include Russia, since it is unrealistic to deny the geographical reality of the country's existence.

"Whether we agree or disagree on key issues is another matter, but the geographical presence and reality of Russia's existence are obvious. Therefore, it is simply unrealistic to deny this fact and build a security system on this denial," Szijjarto stressed, answering a question from Izvestia correspondent Alexei Poltoranin.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister expressed hope for the return of dialogue to discuss the forms of coexistence of states in Europe, noting the need to create consensus. He also supported the idea of a coalition of the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, describing the governments of these countries as patriotic and appreciative of sovereignty.

Earlier, on October 28, Szijjarto said that it is possible to improve the critical global security situation only through the resumption of diplomatic dialogue between the countries of Eurasia. According to the Hungarian Foreign Minister, it is necessary to achieve this goal through the "Eurasian dialogue".

Szijjarto said in an interview with The Washington Times (WT) on October 22 that EU elites are trying to avoid any initiatives that could lead to peace in Ukraine. According to him, Europe is now "dominated by military psychology." The Minister also stressed that Budapest is always ready to mediate in negotiations and maintains open channels of communication with Moscow.

On October 26, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Putin, taking part in the Russian-American summit in Alaska in August, confirmed Moscow's readiness to work on resolving the conflict in Ukraine based on the concept proposed by the United States. In September, during Lavrov's visit to New York, he reminded Secretary of State Marco Rubio of these events and agreements and received a reply that the United States remembers them and discussions are underway.
