Congress called Biden's actions "illegal" due to the use of auto-signing.
The Oversight Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives has expressed doubts about the legitimacy of several executive orders signed by former President Joe Biden. This was reported on October 28 by The Washington Post newspaper with reference to the committee's report.
"In light of the deterioration of the former president's cognitive abilities and the concealment of facts by his inner circle, this approval process calls into question the legality of all pardons that were reportedly granted by President Biden," the publication quotes the text of the report.
The five-month investigation was based on testimony from former Biden administration officials, the newspaper added.
It is noted that the committee sent a letter to the US Attorney General Pam Bondi asking her to investigate all the actions of the executive branch during Biden's presidential term.
On September 24, Trump replaced Biden's portrait on the Presidential Walk of Fame with a photo of a billionaire. Earlier, the American leader stated that the former head of state had not personally signed a single document, and anyone could use the auto-signing device without his knowledge.
The New York Times (NYT) reported on July 13 that Biden said he personally made decisions on pardoning family members and prisoners sentenced to death, but they were all written with a fountain pen. The former president noted that his assistants did not use a fountain pen without permission.
