Russia and India have agreed to cooperate in the production of the SJ-100 aircraft
The Russian United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) and the Indian state-owned company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) have signed a memorandum of understanding on the production of SJ-100 aircraft. This was reported on October 28 by Indian Masterminds.
"Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Public Joint Stock Company United Aircraft Corporation (PJSC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the production of SJ-100 civilian commuter aircraft in India," the statement said.
Details of the agreement have not yet been disclosed. According to the newspaper, in the next decade, India will need more than 200 civil aircraft, and the countries of the Indian Ocean region will need another 350 aircraft units to service the growing flow of tourists.
Earlier, on September 25, Military Watch Magazine (MWM) reported that the Indian authorities want to purchase 140 Su-57 fighter jets from Russia, as Indian troops had problems with French Rafale aircraft. As noted, Russian fighters want to be distributed to seven squadrons of the country's Air Force.
